I'm Katherine !
Why do you need to get
to know your photographer?
​​Your family photos are meant to make you remember moments and feel feelings that are meaningful to you. They're supposed to reflect who you are as individuals, and who you are as a family unit. The beautiful bond you guys share. ​​​​​​​
​
It's important to trust the person you're working with because you are literally handing me a piece of your story, and asking me to tell it from my perspective. And girl, I am so happy to do it!
​
I genuinely want to show you the beauty I see, because I know firsthand how hard it is to see it for yourself, while you're right in the middle of it.
​
I have to do it for my own family all the time! Some of my very favourite photos I've ever taken came from a place of stress and chaos. They were created when a little voice in my head said "get the camera, before you get upset."
​
I live with the most beautiful man and four children that ever existed (not that I'm biased!) and I still catch myself all the time with my head down, stuck in the muck.
​
The fastest, easiest way for me to come out of that, is to grab my camera!
​
So if you're up for it, let me grab my camera real quick, and we'll head out together to make it happen for you too.
Sometimes I do get to places just when God 's ready for somebody to click the shutter.

Why am I a photographer?
I am an artist, who cannot draw, or paint, or sculpt for anything. I need to take photos.
​
I am a wife and mother, who sometimes finds it hard to enjoy the little moments that make up most of a lifetime.
So I take photos.
​
I am a dreamer who loves to absorb and be a part of things that are bigger than me. I take it all in, by taking photos.
​
I love my people hard, but I'm not always good as putting it in words. But I hope they see it through my photos.
I am my happiest when I am my comfiest. Sweatpants and slippers are my uniform. Jeans and tshirt on a fancier day.
​
And I will forever be happier and more comfortable behind a camera, than in front of it.
