There is no experience like
the birth of your baby.
It is unmatched in its tenderness, intensity and joyful unpredictability. It is one of the very few things is this world that leaves me speechless. And as such, it has become my very favourite thing to photograph.

It is so much work for a mother to give birth, that she often has only the strength to focus on herself and her baby - the anticipation of each contraction, and the fleeting, but oh so precious, respite that comes between them. She needs a team to help her bear the weight of slow and hard earned progress, and to attend her while she does nothing but feel the joy of her triumph.
As your photographer
As a Calgary birth photographer, my role on that team is to help her remember. To include my version of the story amongst the partner's, parent's, sister's, friend's and caretaker's stories. So that as a team, we can support her in cherishing one of the most significant experiences of her life.

When, eventually, the rough edges of the struggle start to soften, and the euphoric haze of a successful delivery dissipates from the realities of newborn life, the stories we tell her will help her be able to look back and really see her strength, tenacity and beauty. ​
INVESTMENT
I have limited availability for birth photography, so I encourage you to reach out as soon as you think you might be interested.
There’s no commitment until a deposit is paid, and I promise there won’t be any salesy follow-ups. I understand that hiring a birth photographer is a big decision, and gathering information early on can help you figure out what feels right for you and your birth story.
